UPGRADE - Notice

I'm about to start the process of upgrading the software that Sparky Slider runs on.

If history repeats itself then the upgrade itself will be a simple task, but getting everything else, including all of the customisations to work again afterwards could take a little longer.

Please be patient, as I work through everything and return things to normal.

Update - everything seems to be working, except for the gallery.

The upgrade is now complete.

I've checked as much as I can and everything looks to be working.

If you spot anything that isn't working, please let me know and I do what I can to fix it.

Now that the upgrade is complete, I should tell you about some of the new or improved things at Sparky Slider.

Improved Registration System

It's now much tougher for spammers to register accounts and post links to their junk. Hopefully this will keep many of them away.

Improved User Profile

Your profile now shows your most viewed Gallery images, as well as the number of times your profile has been viewed, who viewed it and user notes (guest book) left by others.

Infraction System

Click on the red and yellow cards and report an infraction. Each infraction earns a number of points. Anybody getting enough points will be subjected to an automatic ban.

Improved Reputation System

The was reputation points are given has been updated, the limits on who and how many times you give reputation points to have been lifted.

RSS Feed

On the main pages there's a module containing RSS news feeds from the Motor Cycle News website. These posts can be discussed in their own forum.

Multiple Quotes in threads

Does what it says, click the button on each post that you want to quote from, and each quote will appear in your reply.

Gold Membership

I have setup a paid subscription service which earns subscribers the title of 'Gold Member'. As a supporter of Sparky Slider, Gold Members get higher limits to the number of PM's, more disk space to post in the gallery and a if required a private dedicated forum. As more features get added to Sparky Slider, some of them may be restricted to Gold members only.
