Thread: Handlebar grips

  1. Handlebar grips

Right, what's the f**king secret? How do you fit new handlebar grips?

Whoever thought up the idea of selling glue for something that is never going to get on let alone come off is a genius!

Having removed the non-working heated grips from my MZ I set about putting on a new normal set - after 30 mins I gave up with one grip @50% on.

I have removed it and am now searching for the 'magic' answer.

    Over to you!

Forget the glue, use washing up liquid.

  4. Great - tomorrow after work I'll have another bash.

I really like this having a garage lark.

    Doc

if you need to put another set of heated grips on instead of rubber ones use clear high temp epoxy from Araldite as normal Araldite rapid degrades with heat.

It cures in 5-10 mins and it comes in a 2 part dispensing syringe.

  7. Syringe. Now you're talking!

I managed to figure that one out all by myself amazingly!

Hairspray works well instead of glue too. Damp enouh to provide som lube and sticky enough to hold them on when it dries.
