I have to fix the top yoke before I can take it for a ride - then the engine comes out while the wheels go off to be powder coated.

LHS Carb stripped again.

Innards left in an ultrasonic cleaner until they were shiny as pins.

Carb rebuilt, petrol tank on.

Still only runs on 1.

The hunt for new carbs / kit starts on ebay.

really, it starts.

And runs for about as long as this sentence.

And only on one cylinder.

But it does start.

After a new battery and new ignition switch, and a lot of kicking.

After a new battery and new ignition switch, and a lot of kicking.

The new spark plugs, and still no better.

So tank off, carbs off, strip and clean.

After putting the take back on and taking it off far too many times, I gave up.

Next job is to strip the carbs and rebuild them with new parts.

Did I mention the petrol pissing out of the overflow pipes??

deep joy

However, with that in mind and inspired by some recent posts by Zunspec, I have decided to pull my finger out and do something about the RGV250 that has been sat in the garage for far too long doing nothing. Well, nothing except taking up space.

This may be a another project that never gets finished, but at least if it's in bits it won't take up so much room.

So Day 1 of the Suzuki RGV250 Project.

My first job is to go and have a good look at what I've got. I know there's a few things that need doing, but I need to start getting it pieces.

I will take some photos and post them up, I will try to keep this blog (I did say was lazy) updated regularly (yeah right!)

So, here goes nothing.

This is a warning about a scam that I have just been made aware of.

Yesterday, my brother took a phone call from somebody that claimed to be working for Microsoft, offering to 'repair' a fault on his computer.

My Brother wasn't aware that his computer had a fault, but didn't have time right then to look at it, and asked the caller to phone back later.

In the mean time, my sister-in-law spoke to me, I recommended that if they called back to take a number. I work in IT and would be better able to help with the PC.

This evening "Microsoft" called again. The conversation went like this.....

Brother: "Would it be possible to take your number, so that my Brother can call you back. He's a Microsoft Support Manager and would like some more infomation about the problem"

"Microsoft": "If your brother works in IT why hasn't he fixed the fault"

Brother: "Because I didn't know I had a problem"

CLICK......Beep <phone hung up>
This person clearly did NOT work for Microsoft
There is no problem with the PC
Microsoft do NOT cold call people offering to fix PCs

Without knowing what they were doing my brother could have easily given this person the ability to compromise the security of the PC and gain access to the data on it, and also install trojans/key loggers to record ANY online activity.

If you get an unexpected call - DO NOT under any circumstances give them access you your PC, no matter how convicing they are.

If they are geniuine, they should at the very least be able to give you a support case number and you should contact Microsoft on one of their published support numbers and quote the support case number.
