    "There is nowhere more distant than the recent past." Who said that, I’m sure it wasn’t me ?*
    Whatever, it’s absolutely true. I only have the vaguest inklings about things that happened in the last five or so years, but I distinctly remember a hot sultry evening in August, circa 1986.

  2. Second Life : Another hiatus

    To those who have noticed the silence from this quarter lately and contacted me, all is well.

    I've simply been busy on other stuff like taking enough medicine to stay awake and constructing my very own website.

    (I've finally had to acknowledge the modern era.)

    Our chartered plane had been grounded in Manilla with engine trouble and the local production company had hastily sent out another one.
    It was not, however, approved by our oil company.

    As you can see, I ain’t superstitious. Not much, anyway.
    I may make the sign of the cross now and then before embarking on some risky business like crossing the road at rush hour or handing over my debit card when I know I’m well over-drawn, but that’s religion, not witchcraft.

    "Damn. I wish I hadn’t done that." Regrettably, we all have at some point in our lives. Opened one’s mouth too soon, posted that letter, sent that email or text; written in haste, in anger or intoxication. (Usually the last, in my case.)
