Hopefully you'll find this update useful.
When you add an event to the calendar a new thread will be created in the Events forum and the two elements will be linked.
This should make it easier to discuss the event and keep everybody up to date, ultimately making the event simple to find for eveybody either through the calendar or the forum.
(nb. this will only apply to new events, not existing ones.)
