braking technology...

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5124/5258727342_182410bed8.jpg

282mm vented discs with 57mm single piston sliding callipers.

Very modern.... compared to the 262mm solid disc on the bloody thing at the moment, you only have to look at them and they fade.

It's almost on par brake technology wise with my RD.

Some pads that are in the garage, it's too cold to go outside and get them. The callipers are only in the hose because the paint is hardening and the discs were delivered today.

Of course, it certainly doesn't go fast enough to need them on the flat.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of Bob, Trev etc......

Q. did the very well paid boffins that designed the car, not give it brakes sufficient to cope with it's rather modest performance then ?

Q. would fitting the bog standard disks supplied for the vehicle, not have saved you a substantial sum of money ?

Q. it is I believe, a Diesel Rover...... so..........why ?

Pider, the car was available in two power trims, 101ps and 115ps, the 115 got vented front discs and rear discs, the 101 got solid discs and drum rears...the same brakes as fitted to the 1994 Rover 414.

The solid discs are really shit, I mean really shit, to the point that HID refuses to drive the car because she can't stop it... and no, mine isn't fucked they're all like that.

and I like fiddling with stuff like that.

Ah, fair enough.

Thought it was going to be one of those "I can now do Doncaster to Leeds a whole 0.0012 seconds faster than I did yesterday, & it only cost me 2 fingers, a day sat on the workshop floor & £750" type threads.
