Think we had snow in JUNE that year...
I'd like to comment, but it was 2 years before I was born.
I left School, Easter 76.
The longest hottest summer arrived, I had a job & my FS1E
I really thought life was perfect.
You really don't care about droughts, when you are free from school, and have money for beer & petrol.
My Mom carried me through the summer of 76, something she's eternally grateful for....I think.
cool my first 250 super six... 50p a gall & fill ya two stroke tank for 2p.. Aham!! just tell the attendant you had one shot of two stroke oil in petrol
it was the only summer in buxton i remember being hot enough to have a paddling pool!
I got bitten by a ladybird that year.
And you're still alive today to tell the tale?
You hard bastard.
I spent most of that summer in Chamonix in the French Alps. Very nice it was too. Had a Honda 250 K4. Didn't ride it out there. Got a bus to Geneva for £28. Return, of course.
I spent much of the summer fishing at Chertsey for barbel. My best was 6 1/2 pounds.
My Dad has just been made redundant and had plenty of time on his hands to take me and a retired uncle out.
Special memories.

What a great year '76 was, particularly the Sept :)
My brother's KH250 spat him off - straight into a telepgraph pole on my birthday in (June) 1976. It rained that evening - really rained.
If I recall correctly, that was the year I shagged my first divorcee.
I turned 9 years old in the summer of 76. I was looking forward to each weekend and the next episode of Chopper Squad.
