gunna pop to see Doctor in a mo..

Blood test results are Back.. will see if I've gorra go on "Cholesterol Tablets"

the last time my cholesterol level was 5.1... and was suggested i take them..

but i didn't... She not happy with me (Doctor) so i did a deal with her if it's High this time i will.. :(

5.1 is not high though!!

I have to go back and see the nurse in a couple of weeks as my blood pressure was a bit high... if it still is i wll have to have my blood tested for cholesterol too, never had it done so i have not got a clue what it is !! :(

No worries Mand... is easy..

you fast the night before your Blood test

(that's nothing to eat and Drink after 6pm the night before your test)

Ho you can Drink water!!

then two weeks later you go back for your results.. :)


Ho!! I'm now on cholesterol tablets, Blood perisher tablets, and low dose Aspirin...

apart from that I'm as fit as a fiddlers elbow... :)

I'm another one, I have to have it tested every year as I have a family history and mine is fairly high at 4.8, I try to keep it down with diet but diet is only a part of the problem it is also hereditory (sp).

going veggie etc wont make you live longer but it sure will feel like it.

I'm already on the cholesterol pills (1 month) even had to give up the pies (sob...).

with all these pills I'm taking.. ain't got room for veg & pies ;)

and with the smoking ban at work... my body is starting to rebel against me
I'm 4th day into these new pills and i don't feel 100%.. but I'll stick with it for a week or so.. just to try and adjust my body to the new Drugs..:(

i will.... but after talking to my boss who is on them to, his dose as just been upped to 20mg and his cholesterol level was higher than mine!!

I'm on 40mg.. and that is why i probably feel the effects more.. I'll stick with it.. Doctor Knows best i suppose :eek:

Strange that he is on a lower dose than you... maybe mention it to the docs on your next visit or if you keep feeling not right.

yer.. remember 4 years ago. went to doc's High Blood pressure.. so put me on

Bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg & a Beta blocker tablet.. bloody nearly shut me hart down... she (the Doctor) took me off them dam quick, i hardly had a pulse.

she did wonder how i made it to the surgery!!

have found that the Bendroflumethiazide 2.5mg keep me BP even & level.. the only side effect is you need to wee more.. but then they are used for water retention in women.
