S1opp, anychance you could have a fully expanded breadcrumb navigation on the home page?

Would save a mouse click or too navigating to the relevant forum.

The what, where?

Do you mean the home page, or the forum home page?

I never understood the breadcrumb reference.

Home page.

Breadcrumb navigation, you see at the top of this thread page, you have the forum structure that you can click to jump to.

e.g Sparky Slider > Sparky Slider > Feedback

That's breadcrumb navigation, leaving a trail to follow :)

Here's an egg...go sucjk it ;)

I see, now on the homepage, where the recent topics are you can click on the thread, the last unread post or the forum.

I could change the navigation panel, but there are too many forums to list them all, and I'm certain it doesn't take group membership into account in that module.

I could change the layout of the forum home page around a bit.

When you've got the white colour scheme selected can you make it so the red bits are blue. i like blue, a nice light blue?

'Breadcrumb Navigation' - that's a great name for a band.

"Good evening Portsmouth, tonight, we are... Breadcrumb Navigation!"

chazhead

Hmmm...maybe have the most popualr as direct clickables. Prob general, ND and what ever gets used a lot over the next few weeks, say no more than 5?

A blue style wouldn't take long, it's only CSS.

Changing all the buttons and icons would take a few minutes.

PS I only know about BC naviagtion coz some developer used the term on me and I had no idea what it meant so had to go google it.

I'll sort something out later today.

I'll put some instructions together for it.

I think it's pop3 and imap compliant, I'll put all the details in the instructions.

I over guessed the volue of the email accounts.

I have only 10 full email accounts, these have all the bells and stuff.

The rest are just webmail with no av or spam, not much use if you've already got a webmail account.

I'll sort something out after I've got the layout nailed.

I've added a few more direct links to the Navigation panel.

The ND one will give an error to anbody not in the group.

I will try and find something that's permissions based.

Is it something I need to do ?

Stupid 'pider.

Yes, there's something you need to do.

Go to your 'User CP'

Scroll down to 'Groups' (bottom left)

Find the ND group. Apply to join

Take a look at all of the other NDers that have managed to get in already.

I suppose being a Bimmer rider you're used to being last though

In spite of no completing email and the sudden magical appearance of menu options formerly missing until mentioned.

Easy now young man, I have been known to slap the odd whippersnapper for less than that................

Of course if I was one of these bods that had all day to play on pooters I may have sussed this out, maybe?

Right, I'm having trouble fixing the Navigation bar at the top, so I've added a breadcrumb navigation bar to the bottom of each thread.

Just above the Quick reply box.

Until I'm happy with it, you'll only see it if you choose the 'New White' style

S1OPP
04-11-2008, 20:26
I've change the layout of the New White style.

Could somebody try it out and let know what they think.

I'm not 100% sure about it, but I don't know if that's just because I'm used to the old layout.

chazhead
04-11-2008, 20:34
S1opp, new white is my default style, do I need to refresh or anything?

And what am I looking for?

chazhead
04-11-2008, 20:36
Soz, read again

Like it at the bottom as well, but a locked frame with the navigation would be ideal as you can navigate from anywhere in a thread as I have a lot of posts displayed in my options.

Not moaning, just saying like :)

vfrooom
04-11-2008, 20:36
Could we have sage'n'onion stuffing navigation or even crouton, rather than breadcrumb?

S1OPP
04-11-2008, 20:47
Chaz,

When you say 'lots of posts displayed in my options', where are you looking?

have you tried the threaded or hybrid display modes?

chazhead
04-11-2008, 20:49
Sorry, that's what I mean, I use the linear option, so there is a lot of posts and have to scroll top or bottom to naviagte.

Not a BIG thing, just it's the simple things that make a good site great.

S1OPP
04-11-2008, 20:53
Do you use the 'go to last unread post', I use that and it usually drops me in the right place.

Once I've read the last one, the breadcrumb at the bottom takes me back up to the forum.

I guess I could put a 'back to top' link in each post for now.

The template changes to get the hybrid mode how I want it are taking longer than I thought

chazhead
04-11-2008, 21:14
I display newest at top, so if I have been a bit lax in followng a topic I then scroll down to where I left off. Hence being in a middle of a thread.

Like I say not a biggy
